    Job Description

    The Job

    Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a Hospital Food Services Supervisor* who oversees the daily operations of the ARMC cafeteria and supervises food service staff. This role includes supervising all cashiers and cafeteria servers, ensuring excellent customer service, and overseeing the setup and presentation of the café. The supervisor also assists in managing food service staff involved in food preparation for patient meal service, catering services, and vending operations. Additional duties include training and evaluating staff performance, assisting with hiring and disciplinary actions, ensuring proper staffing at all times, and monitoring the proper methods of food preparation. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring the overall efficiency and quality of food service operations while maintaining a high standard of safety, sanitation, and customer satisfaction.

    ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

    Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services.     CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Shift Availability: ARMC is a twenty-four-hour facility; applicants must indicate their shift availability in the Supplemental Questionnaire of the application. Shift differentials are provided.

    Minimum Requirements

    Experience:
    Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience of large quantity food preparation experience in a hospital, detention center, school cafeteria or, other institutional setting.
    (Substitution: An associate's degree in food and hospitality, dietetics or restaurant management may substitute for one (1) year of the experience.)

    -AND-

    Certificate: Incumbents must possess a valid San Bernardino County Food Handler's Certificate.

    Desired Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will possess a ServSafe Manager certification issued by the National Restaurant Association, six (6) months of culinary experience and knowledge of menus and diets, and regulatory experience. Preference will be given to those with supervisory and/or lead experience.
