    Job Description

    The Job

    Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for an Ultrasound Technologist I who under training conditions, assists staff with a variety of technical ultrasonic procedures for the diagnosis of disease. Duties include selecting the appropriate transducers for the specific ultrasonic examinations; eliciting the cooperation of patients; explaining procedures and calming the patient's fears; setting up patients and equipment for procedures; and monitoring patients before, during, and after testing and selecting, reviewing and storing ultrasound images.

    Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.     CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a background investigation which includes verification of employment history and education, fingerprinting, physical exam, and drug screening.

    Certification: Must be eligible to take the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) at time of hire and pass within one (1) year of date of hire. Failure to pass the exam within one (1) year will result in termination.

    Work Schedule: Must be available to work Monday through Friday 4pm-midnight and occasional weekends and holidays as needed

    Promotion: Ultrasound Technologist I are eligible for promotion to Ultrasound Technologists II upon receipt of a satisfactory work progress report. Incumbents must promote within twenty-four (24) months or be terminated.

    Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require Visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.

    Minimum Requirements

    Certification: Must possess and maintain current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Ob/Gyn, abdominal and adult echo cardiology (for cardiac services only) -OR- be eligible to take the ARDMS examination and pass within one (1) year of date of hire.

    Vascular Lab : Must possess and maintain a current Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) License.

    Desired Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of experience working in a medical environment.
