    EXCEPTIONAL OPPORTUNITY FOR A VISIONARY PHYSICIAN ADMINISTRATOR

    Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC), a premier public teaching hospital in San Bernardino County, seeks a dynamic and forward-thinking physician to serve as Chief Population Health Officer and Associate Chief Medical Officer. This dual role presents a rare and exceptional opportunity for a physician who thrives at the intersection of clinical excellence, population health strategy, and executive leadership.

    As a member of ARMC’s administrative leadership team, you will join a mission-driven executive team focused on clinical excellence, health equity, and innovation. You will serve as a physician champion and help shape the future of healthcare delivery in one of the most diverse and rapidly growing regions in Southern California. In collaboration with top-tier physicians, hospital leadership, and public health stakeholders, you will build on a strong foundation of excellence-continuing to elevate patient outcomes, enhance operational performance, and advance the medical center’s mission in service, education, and innovation.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS
    • This position offers full benefits and a competitive salary range of $248,414.40 - $357,780.80 Ann ually DOQ
    • 3% Annual Across the Board Salary Increases in February 2026 & Bi-annual step increases of 2.5% up to Step 16
    • The County also offers an alternative Modified Benefit Option (MBO) that provides a wage differential of 4% above the base salary rate (up to $372,091 annually DOE/DOQ) with a complementing modified leaves package and benefits.

    THE OPPORTUNITY
    Lead with Purpose. Drive Impact. This senior executive physician leadership role at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) serves as a key clinical strategist and champion of value-based care. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Chief Population Health Officer and Associate Chief Medical Officer plays a central role in developing and implementing programs that align with ARMC’s strategic goals and countywide health priorities. As a licensed, practicing physician with ARMC medical staff privileges, the leader will work closely with medical staff and hospital leadership to drive strategic initiatives and operational work plans aimed at improving clinical outcomes and reducing health disparities across the system.     KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Strategy | Data | Population Health Leadership
    • Partner with the Chief Medical Officer, executive leadership, and medical staff to design and execute hospital-wide strategies that support improved clinical outcomes across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory services.
    • Lead the development and assessment of evidence-based, value-driven programs that target population health outcomes and reduce health disparities.
    • Collaborate with the Clinical Informatics department to deploy data systems and analytics that inform provider practices and support long-term health improvement initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards in coordination with the Quality and Accreditation teams.
    • Serve on the executive team and strategic committees, contributing to system-wide planning and alignment with ARMC’s mission and vision.

    Operational Excellence | Quality & Care Coordination
    • Oversee interdisciplinary teams that implement strategies to improve care delivery and health outcomes for high-risk and underserved populations.
    • Collaborate with Case Management leadership on programs that enhance care coordination, reduce readmissions, and manage length of stay.
    • Champion provider and staff engagement efforts, focusing on sustainable solutions that reduce burnout and promote wellness.
    • Design and deliver clinical education programs aligned with national standards and population health best practices.
    • Work with the Clinical Document Improvement team to ensure complete and proper documentation in practitioners’ clinical notes.

    External Collaboration | Community Impact
    • Foster partnerships with external agencies, including government entities, community organizations, and public health agencies to advance ARMC’s health equity and outreach goals.
    • Advocate for underserved and at-risk populations while promoting diversity, inclusion, and equitable care delivery throughout the organization.
    • Guide the development of operational systems and structures that support performance improvement in clinical care, governance, and administration.

    Minimum Requirements

    A combination of relevant education, experience, and training that provides the necessary knowledge and skills may be considered.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education: MD or DO from an accredited University
    • Licensure: Active and unrestricted medical license in California required; preference will be given to physicians who are board-certified in a medical specialty.
    • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience within population health management or in a physician leadership role within a health system. Completion of a population health fellowship is ideal.
    • EHR: Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) platform.
