    The Contra Costa Health Department is offering (2) excellent career opportunities for qualified individuals interested in the position of Environmental Services Manager. This position is responsible for supporting environmental services needs in areas such as the Operating Rooms and Post Anesthesia Care, Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, Diagnostic Imagining, Critical Care, Pharmacy, Patient Rooms, and other scheduled areas. These services are found throughout the County, so this position may work in a variety of settings ranging from the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) to Community-Based Health Centers.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education: Possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency or a high school proficiency certificate.

    Experience: Five (5) years of experience in the environmental services division of a hospital, rehabilitation center, military or similar institution, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

    Substitution for Experience: Successful completion of 60 semester or 90-quarter units from an accredited college or university, or possession of a Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification issued by the American Hospital Association may be substituted for one (1) year of required experience. There is no substitution allowed for the required supervisory experience.

    Selection Process

    Application Filing and Evaluation: All applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application. Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.
    Training and Experience Evaluation: At the time of filing, within the supplemental questionnaire, candidates will be required to complete a training and experience questionnaire. Candidates who clearly meet the minimum qualifications, as described above, will have their training and experience responses evaluated, which will determine their score and rank on the eligible list. The training and experience questionnaire is designed to measure the candidate’s relevant education, training, and/or experience as it relates to the position. (Weighted 100%).
    Final Selection Interviews: The hiring manager interviews will be scheduled directly by the unit/division once the eligible list is established.
