    Requirements

    MOS CODES: NONE

    Education and Experience : A Bachelor's degree or higher in Business or Public Administration or related field, and four (4) years loan or mortgage processing experience.

    Licenses and Certificates : Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state.

    General Purpose

    Under general direction, oversee processing of loan/grant applications, and supervise and coordinate public relations and customer services for housing programs participants.

    Typical Duties

    Monitor the planning and implementation of housing programs. Involves: Oversee the planning and development of housing program plans and priorities. Set goals and monitor outcomes. Plan, prepare, present, and supervise housing programs to interested groups and individuals. Fund and review administrative and project activities in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Integrated Disbursement and Information System (IDIS).

    Coordinate the collection of documents for loan applications for housing programs. Involves: Monitor data collected from applicants, title companies, banks and mortgage companies, insurance companies, appraisers, and others for the processing of loan applications. Verify applicants eligibility for housing programs. Review and analyze financial data to determine eligibility. Plan and schedule submission of applications for approval by City Council. Conduct closings of financial transactions at title companies. Calculate loan and grant balances.

    Represent the department and provide technical support, information and guidance on housing programs, functions and activities to applicants. Involves: Assist in updates and revisions on HUD and City policies and procedures. Prepare and provide comprehensive documents on housing programs. Interpret complex housing policies and procedures and provide information and guidance in easy to understand terms. Observe and evaluate program activities and recommend changes as appropriate. Attend City Council meetings, professional meetings and other gatherings to represent the department as required.

    Supervise assigned personnel. Involves: Schedule, assign, instruct, guide and check work. Appraise employee performance. Provide for training and development. Enforce personnel rules and regulations and work behavior standards firmly and impartially. Counsel, motivate and maintain harmony. Interview applicants. Recommend hiring, termination, transfers, discipline, merit pay or other employee status changes
