    Description:

    The Deputy Chief Criminal Investigator is responsible for basic to complex investigations, training, supervision of other investigators, and administrative tasks. Collaborates with victims, law enforcement agencies, District Attorneys, defense counsel and team to achieve just outcomes, further the goals of the District Attorney and fulfill all statutory, constitutional and ethical obligations of an investigator.

    SCHEDULE:

    The position is hybrid, with an in-office and a remote work component allowed based on business needs. Must be available for 24/7 on-call status.

    COMPENSATION:

    Hiring Range: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 USD Annu

    Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
    • Training and supervision of other investigators.
    • Ability to work with diverse staff and community members.
    • Performs comprehensive investigative and specialized operational work that supports the statutory requirements of the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to make sound decisions.
    • Strong officer-safety skills and knowledge.
    • Function with minimal supervision.
    • 24/7 on-call status.
    • May temporarily assume assigned responsibilities when the Chief Investigator is unavailable.
    • Administrative work.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.




    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • 5 years of work-related experience.
    • Associate’s degree in criminal justice or related field.
    • Active Colorado POST Certification.
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Note an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
