ABOUT THE JOB: This position provides professional nursing duties in a corrections setting that include physical assessments, verification of medication and treatment, TB testing, documentation of medical care, scheduling, and conducting sick calls. Will also be responsible for communicating with medical, mental health, and public health communities, alcohol and or drug detoxification, administering medications, scheduling out-of-facility physician and dental appointments, maintaining statistics, and resolving medical bills. Key Responsibilities: Provides non-emergency medical services during daily sick call in jail; takes requests for medical services; examines inmates as needed; dispenses treatment; administers medications and injections; collects laboratory samples. Coordinates medical needs of inmates with jail providers; works with providers to assess and treat medical conditions. Assesses medical needs and evaluates medical requirements of inmates.
