    Job Description

    Job Location: This position will be located at 1501 N River Independence, MO 64050.

    Job Duties

    • Assists professional clinical staff by securing social and environmental information from clients and their families through interviews and home visits; compiles case histories.

    • Obtains, refers, or provides services to clients to alleviate social, environmental, and economic problems.

    • Visits clients in residential treatment programs to monitor their care and treatment and to serve as their advocate.

    • Functions in a trainee capacity as a member of a client admission team; explains the treatment purpose to clients and their families; provides other treatment staff with clients' social information.

    • Establishes communication for clients with relatives, employers, and representatives of other agencies.

    • Attends treatment planning sessions required for cooperative planning; participates in planning sessions within limits of professional growth and skill.

    • Refers clients and their families to other agencies for additional and/or different services.

    • Serves as liaison between the program and other treatment providers, community groups, and social service agencies.

    • Performs work under close supervision with careful review of work methods, reports, and processes.

    • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; arrive to work on time, returns from lunch on time and minimizes absences.

    • Performs other related work as assigned.

    Key Skills

    • Introductory knowledge of interviewing and information gathering techniques. Introductory knowledge of individual, family, and group behavior. Introductory knowledge of available community resources.

    • Introductory knowledge of current social and economic challenges. Ability to evaluate services and clients' needs, functioning level, and progress. Ability to understand medical and treatment records, progress notes, and other related information.

    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, family members, employers, agency representatives, and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively.

    Minimum Qualifications

    A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field.

    • No disciplinary action in the previous 12 months. Employee must be current in mandatory training requirements and department job-specific competencies. Being current in policies will be a consideration in selecting the most qualified candidate for awarding positions.

    Have not received a successful bid for a posting within the last ninety (90) days
