    Job Description

    The Job

    The Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency (ICEMA) is currently recruiting for a Specialty Care Coordinator (Contract). The Specialty Care Coordinator will work cooperatively with the staff of ICEMA under the direction of the EMS Administrator, or designee, planning, coordinating, and implementing the training/certification and/or quality assurance components of the County Emergency Medical Services System and related duties. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Identify and analyze personnel and training needs for all EMS categories including Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support.
    • Participate in on-site visits to hospitals and EMS providers to audit staffing requirements, patient care documentation procedures and special equipment required.
    • Attend and represent the department at State, regional, and local meetings.
    • Promote effective working relationships with EMS providers, hospitals, clinical professionals and EMS field personnel to ensure understanding and cooperation.
    • Provide technical guidance and consultation to EMS field personnel and EMS providers.
    • Interpret State regulations and development/implementation of policies, procedures and protocols to reflect State guidelines.
    • Conduct analysis of complex EMS issues and apply regulations, policies and contracts.
    • Conduct Quality Improvement duties to ensure Specialty Care Hospitals meet Title 22 Health and Safety Code as well as ICEMA contracts and policy.
    • Data management to ensure that hospitals are up to date on reporting. Report building for STEMI, Stroke and Trauma Centers when updates are needed.
    • Consultation for STEMI, Stroke and Trauma Contracts.
    • Complete Hospital Surveys.
    • Regional quality improvement meetings for STEMI, Stroke and Trauma.

    These positions offer a competitive salary, from $104,000 to $120,598 annually depending on qualifications.     Minimum Requirements

    License: Must possess and maintain a current California license as a Registered Nurse throughout the duration of the contract.

    Desired Experience: Two (2) years of professional nursing experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency care setting.
