About the University

The newest addition to the California State University system, California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) opened in 2002 with 629 transfer students and welcomed its first freshman class in Fall 2003. Since that time, the University has grown and developed into one of the premier public universities not only in the CSU system, but also int he nation. Indeed, in its 2018 ranking, U.S. News and World Report listed CSUCI as the 18th highest-ranked public university in the western United States.

CSUCI is a public comprehensive university that engages students in critical inquiry and is dedicated to educate leaders for a global society. CSUCI is located in Ventura County and home to more than 6,800 undergraduate and 240 graduate students. We are proud to note that our campus is a designated Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). 50% of the CSUCI undergraduate students are Latinx, 29% are White, 2% are African American, 5% are Asian American, and 4.5% are multiracial.

Ensures followthrough on projects with clients and students through satisfaction surveys or exit interviews. Assists in hiring new students, maintaining the website and managing all other channels. Assists in the preparation and compilation of reports related to operations, assessment, grants, and gifts, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. Administrative Support for MVS School: Provides administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the MVS School. Examples of duties may include but are not limited to: ordering and maintaining supplies; processing work orders for maintenance requests, building key and code requests; troubleshooting office technology problems and systems; preparing reports and other documents; and maintaing and archiving electronic records and files. Works with faculty to help with daily needs such as printing, unlocking offices and classrooms, etc. Assists with submitting forms to finance, purchasing, accounts payable, HR, and payroll. Assists with preparing administrative reports, forms, letters, memos, other correspondence and materials. Assists the MVS staff in planning, organizing, and staffing MVS School events. While working independently, as well as in a team, upholds the highest standards of customer service for internal and external constituents by embodying the values of collegiality, inclusivity, respect, efficiency, and accuracy. Supports the MVS School staff by maintaining awareness of the school’s operational needs and provides assistance to the Administrative Support Coordinator II and Budget & Administrative Analyst as needed. About the Program: The Mathematics Department at CSUCI has several programs: a BS in Mathematics with a choice between four tracks in Pure Math, Applied Math, Math Education, and Statistics, an MS in Mathematics, and minors in Mathematics, Statistics and Data Analysis, Foundational Mathematics, and Philosophy. Public Safety Administrator II RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Under the general direction of the Chief of Police, the Police Lieutenant manages the daily operations and administration of police department functions. Plans, organizes, and directs activities of the operational areas(s) for which s/he is responsible. Establishes policies and procedures, develops goals, objectives, and operational budgets, assesses program efficiency and effectiveness and ensures compliance with the department’s accreditation standards. Manages the employee evaluation process and provides effective leadership to staff members within the operational areas for which s/he is responsible. Administers discipline, recognizes commendable employee actions, and provides supervision and leadership for department operations that promote excellent customer service, community policing, high morale, and a professional image. Serves as the Incident Commander and/or Emergency Operations Center Director during major criminal incidents, natural and man-made disasters, demonstrations, or special events. Works closely with the campus and surrounding community on issues affecting public safety. Serves as a liaison to other police and public agencies in the region and state, and represents the department on committees, task forces, commissions, or multi-agency work groups. Assumes all the responsibilities of the Chief of Police to include oversight, leadership, and administration of the Police, Transportation & Parking, and Environmental Health & Safety work groups when the chief of absent.
