JOB SUMMARY The Department of History at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) invites applications for the W. Benson Harer Egyptology Scholar in Residence. A successful candidate will be a member of the CSUSB community for one semester, either Fall 2025 (mid Aug- mid Dec) or Spring 2026 (mid Jan - late May). This position is designed for scholars taking a semester sabbatical from a home institution or as a postdoc for an up incoming scholar. The applicant should specialize in Ancient Egyptian History, Archaeology, Religion, Society, or Art anytime between the Predynastic to the Roman Periods. The successful candidate will receive housing, a partial meal plan, $2,500 towards relocation expenses, and a $26,000 stipend. CSUSB hosts the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art (RAFFMA), which includes an important collection of approximately 500 artifacts dating from the Predynastic Period to the Coptic Period. TYPICAL ACTIVITIES History Department- The primary responsibility for the applicant will be to teach one upper division class on Ancient Egyptian History, Society, Archaeology, or Art for the Department of History. A candidate may design a class of his/her own that deals with Ancient Egypt. Or the candidate may also choose to teach one of the classes that are already part of the CSUSB curriculum, such as Ancient Egyptian Culture and Society, Ancient Egyptian Archaeology, Ancient Egyptian History Origins to 1700BCE, Ancient Egyptian History 1700 BCE to 1000 BCE, or Ancient Egyptian History 1000 BCE to 495CE. Job Summary: Under direct supervision of a physician or similar practitioner or higher-level Registered Nurse and general direction of the Executive Director, the incumbent will act as a Registered Nurse I for the San Bernardino Student Health Center and may also work on the Palm Desert Campus as needed. The Per Diem Registered Nurse will also be responsible for active participation in health education activities, assign tasks to and review work of clinic support staff within their scope of work, and assists with development of policies, protocols and procedures. Additional duties can include participation in health center and campus wide committees when assigned. Duties / Responsibilities Follows established triage protocols to provide triage and/or first aid for minor injuries to students, staff, faculty and campus visitors. Responsible for the daily schedule and balancing provider time based on patient acuity and utilization. With prior approval from individual providers, give students their normal lab results. If a student requests a result that is not within normal limits, schedule an appointment for the student with the rendering provider. Understanding orders, evaluate requests for HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) testing, including patient assessment, testing, pregnancy options, counseling, and appropriate referrals. Under the direction of a physician, assist with medication refill requests. Room patients and take vital signs and make appropriate entries on medical charts. Prepares patients for examination by a clinician and assists in the examination and treatment when appropriate. Follow-up on treatments as requested and interpret or explain treatments to patient. Applies heat or cold modalities, instructs patient in use of physical therapy appliances (crutches, canes, etc.) Performs vision and hearing screening tests. Performs electrocardiogram, ear irrigation and similar treatments. Assists in preparation of slides and cultures. Prepares requisitions for laboratory and x-ray work as ordered by a Physician. Patient Education Provides ongoing Health Education for patients. Provides sexual health education, counseling and care, including administration of medication abortion services, including but not limited to, assisting with Family Planning/Contraception Immunizations/Injections/Medications. Administers medications by mouth or hypodermic injection as ordered by clinician. Assists in administration of all injections (MMR, Td, TB skin tests, etc.) on and off-site. Per provider request, contact patients to give information regarding referrals, prescriptions, recheck appointments. Effectively applies nursing knowledge and proper techniques in performing routine laboratory testing such as urinalysis, hemoglobin, glucose, and urine pregnancy tests. Prepares lab samples obtained by medical providers for pick up by the lab. Assists with medical examinations and procedures as requested by clinic medical providers. Under direct supervision, administer immunizations and medications. Provides educational counseling on a wide variety of health topics such as sexually transmitted infections, contraception, hypertension. Helps provider follow up on abnormal results Assists with orientation of new nursing staff members and student interns when assigned. Responsible for administering and reading tuberculosis (TB) skin tests. Orders lab work and/or chest X-rays according to TB protocols for individuals with a positive test result or a history of positive results. Schedules follow-up chest X-rays with a medical provider for those with positive readings. Ensures medications and supplies are stocked and checks expiration dates to ensure items on shelves have not expired. Ensures vaccine refrigerators’ temperature are regularly monitored and follows up on excursions. Sets up treatment trays for procedures and other patient care activities, assists the provider, and cleans up afterwards. Maintain keys as indicated for locking cabinets/doors/drawers. Participates in Health Center committees such as Quality Improvement, Emergency Preparedness, Infection Prevention, and Accreditation, Mock codes and other activities. Assists with development and update of nursing policies/procedures/standing orders. Participates in clinic and staff conferences and other presentations when appropriate. Participates in continuing education activities to keep current on pertinent topics as well as to complete ongoing licensure requirements. Participates in Student Health Center activities such as health fairs, immunization clinics, and student orientations when assigned. May work at San Bernardino Campus. Other classification related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a professional nursing program in an approved school of nursing or by additional preparation as approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing. No experience is required as this is an entry-level registered nursing classification for recently licensed registered nurses. Must possess and maintain a valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California Must possess and maintain certification in CPR/AED Required Qualifications Thorough knowledge of professional nursing principles, methods and procedures; anatomy and physiology applicable to assigned duties; medical supplies and equipment used in nursing practice; and the uses and effects of medications and narcotics. Working knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to registered nursing and the scope of practice limitations of clinic support staff. Ability to effectively apply nursing knowledge and demonstrate proper techniques and skills in performing nursing duties; accurately observe and record symptoms, behaviors, and reactions to treatments in order to make a nursing diagnosis; respond with therapy to treatment reactions; use applicable health center automated systems to perform duties and maintain records and prepare reports; gain the cooperation of patients; analyze emergency situations and take prompt action; maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations; maintain effective working relationships with practitioners and other health center support staff; and be sensitive to and communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds. Job Summary Under general supervision, the incumbent will perform custodial duties in and around assigned buildings within the Housing Villages. Conduct ongoing monitoring and analysis of cost share accounts and conduct analysis of cost share financial statements to forecast problems and address them proactively. Collaborate with other RA’s to thoroughly compile effort of PI/PD from all sources to accurately record effort. Typical Activities Under minimal supervision of the Tutoring Coordinator, the Tutor will work independently to: Review student homework, engaging students in different instructional styles, and providing feedback and study skills to enhance student’s understanding of the school material within a two-hour time block three days a week. Diffuse verbal and emotional conflicts, provide emotional support, and enforce rules to provide an engaging learning environment. Assign educational activities, monitor student progress on homework completion, and perform tutor responsibilities such as cleaning and organizing the classroom supplies. Engage and build relationships with students, help students develop teamwork and leadership skills, and provide academic guidance. The homeless youth K-12 tutor position allows individuals the rare opportunity to expand their knowledge from the classroom and connect with the population they will serve in the San Bernardino County. The work is not only meaningful for the tutors, but also for the underprivileged youth in the program, as students get the opportunity to receive further educational assistance that they would otherwise be unavailable given their circumstances. Some travel between sites located within San Bernardino. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma. Experience: Working with students grades K-12. Other: Knowledge of STEM subjects. Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Dean, the duties of the Associate Dean for Student Success are general internal operations related to student enrollment, student success and DEI activities of the college. The Associate Dean for Student Success is a key member of the Administrative Team of the college and works closely with all members of the team. This 12-month appointment for a tenured faculty member of the college is an MPP position. Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Director of Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD), the incumbent evaluates eligibility and determines appropriate academic accommodations for enrolled students with physical, perceptual, learning and psychological differences. Responsibilities also involve assisting faculty, staff, and administrators with information regarding appropriate implementation of mandated academic accommodations and working collaboratively with across campus to offer resources and systems of support for SSD students. Insert all duties and responsibilities Counseling/Advising: Through an interactive process and study of medical and educational documents to supplement the students’ presentation, the incumbent will create student accommodations plans, conducts routine follow ups, assess needs, and maintains records of encounters. Under general direction, the incumbent authorizes accommodations on a case-by-case basis that are commensurate with the student’s verified disability through the following measures: Assess for the presence and severity of visual, physical and other disabilities that may affect academic achievement (permanent and temporary). Interview and assesses students’ accommodation needs through an interactive process and a thorough review of other pertinent information that may be of a sensitive or confidential nature. Solicit medical/psychiatric/educational documents when necessary to elucidate the diagnosis(es) to inform appropriate accommodation decisions. Troubleshoot functional limitations by identifying the problems, think them through, evaluate them realistically, deal with their aptitudes and abilities as related to their particular needs and circumstances, select suitable goals, and implement corrective measures to alleviate skills deficiencies that have a persistent untoward effect on academic achievement. Document the results and disposition in the database. Contribute to innovation in counseling services by working with department staff and other campus professionals to design student success programs and services. Provide counselor coverage as necessary to maintain SSD operational needs. Case Coordination: Routinely identifies by grade point average, length of time to degree and International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9) codes, students that are at high risk for academic failure to develop innovative accommodation plans and identify resources that will better meet their needs. Consults with the Chancellor’s Office and various government agencies relating to disability legislation such as the Office Civil Rights (OCR), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Hotline regarding accessibility and accommodation challenges on assigned caseload. Coordinates students’ requests for Personal Care Attendants (PCA) with on campus departments and off campus agencies and provides referrals for students as solicited. Job Summary: The Benefits Analyst will require independent performance of specialized administrative and analytical duties and be responsible for processing fee waiver and summer discount applications, maintaining the minimum threshold of 95% of the health benefit status information in the ACAS database, and creating leaves of absence documentation. The Benefits and Fee Waiver Analyst will also need to provide high level of support in evaluating and resolving complex issues related to benefits, leaves of absence and ACA. This position requires independent performance of specialized administrative and analytical duties. Responsibilities Benefits • Demonstrate thorough knowledge on benefit offerings such as medical plans, dental plans, vision plans, flexcash program, retirement savings accounts, HCRA/DCRA and voluntary plans. • Create, modify and evaluate the department's Benefit Enrollment Worksheet, ACA Enrollment Worksheet, Open Enrollment Worksheet, and Informational Sheet for employees. • Coordinate daily operations and provide lead work direction and training to Benefits Assistant. • Capable of taking initiative to independently plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Handle Mutiple priorities to assist employees when they call or email the benefits line and benefits email regarding their questions and concerns. Analyze and address issues through reasoning, interpretation and application of administrative guides and policies as it relates to benefit eligibility, eligible dependents and required documents, educate employees about their own benefit coverage, explanation on similarities and differences between plans, general retirement questions, continuation of benefits, open enrollment questions, technical issues with the electronic form, etc. • Notify and follow up on selected employees about the Dependent Eligibility Verification (DEV) audit. Each status code is tied to an effective date and assigned a description to clarify when each code would be assigned to an employee. • Perform accurate data entry for ACA status codes, including but not limited to, recording dates for new hire and waiting period, coverage offer and election, ineligibility, post-90-day HIPAA election, coverage decline, administrative decline, loss of coverage, voluntary and permanent separation cancellations, and temporary suspension due to unpaid status. • Update and maintain the minimum threshold of 95% of the health benefit status information in the ACAS database for CSUSB employees. The ACAS database serves as the official tracking and reporting system of ACA required information for the CSU to report to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). • Refer to policies and user guides to independently review best practices for the goals and soundness in the judgement of appropriate status codes for each health benefit status change. Job Summary: Under general supervision, independently perform a full range of standard dispatch duties on rotating shifts. The incumbent will receive information, complaints, requests and signals from a variety of communication equipment. Job Summary: Custodians provide general cleaning and custodial care and support for assigned campus buildings, facilities, structures and adjacent areas and/or portions thereof, including, but not limited to, campus offices, classrooms, science laboratories, art rooms, auditoriums, gymnasiums, locker rooms, health and child care centers, student residences, patios, entryways, walkways, and workshops. Custodial staff may work independently or as part of a custodial team. Duties and responsibilities Empty trash receptacles daily, remove loose trash and dump trash containers adjacent to buildings as directed. Replace liners as needed, flatten old boxes and place in designated areas. Replenish lavatory supplies, restock custodial closets, and assist lead workers in determining future needs. Keep all dispensers full and an adequate supply of materials on hand in the custodial closet free of debris, personal items, and in a neat orderly fashion. Floor care: sweep, scrub, strip, mop, wax and buff floor. Vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas. Clean assigned rooms to the satisfaction of department management and the campus standards of quality. Dust all furniture, polish and clean as needed. Replace all lamps and inform lead custodian of burned out lamps too high to reach on a six-foot ladder, or that has ballast problems. Lock and unlock doors and windows as required to assure building and equipment security. Lock and unlock doors as necessary and secure rooms after being cleaned. Report unlocked doors to Public Safety. Direct inquires for admittance to offices to Public Safety. Participate in moving tables, chairs, desks, files, and other equipment and furniture. Promptly move furniture and properly take care not to damage the furniture, floors, walls or doors. Store in proper areas. Assign time to work orders. Job Summary: Under the direction of a commanding officer, the Sergeant is assigned primary responsibility as a working, first line supervisor, in addition to general law enforcement and specialized work assignments performed by Police Officers and Corporals. Work assignments require the use of independent judgment and the ability to provide leadership to others.
