Medical Transcriptionist Lubbock 38849BR Position Description Persons in this position are responsible for the transcription of all patient-related medical reports, medical evaluations, letters and summaries dictated by clinic physicians and residents for inclusion in patient charts. Work is performed under pressure of deadlines. Employees have contact with physicians and staff at HSC. Major/Essential Functions Transcribing reports, medical terminology, accessioning and processing Dermatology specimens. Education that includes at least 60 semester hours from an accredited institution OR 24 semester hours of Medical Laboratory technology courses OR 24 semesters hours of science that includes: 6 hours of chemistry, 6 hours of Biology, and 12 hours of Chemistry, Biology or Medical Laboratory technology in any combination.
