    DUTIES

    The City of Los Angeles is a charter city governed by an elected Mayor and 15-member City Council with a $7 billion annual budget. The Personnel Department is the primary human resources entity within the City. The Department administers various human resources functions for the City’s workforce.

    The Medical Services Division (MSD) is responsible for pre-employment and occupational health screening for candidates and City employees. MSD also provides medical services to three City detention centers. The successful candidate for Relief Nurse will perform professional nursing services within the Medical Services Division including Occupational Health and Correctional Care in assisting physicians in the medical evaluation and treatment of employees, candidates, arrestees and prisoners in City jails. May act as lead nurse on an individual shift; and does related work.

    REQUIREMENT(S)/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)

    1. A valid Registered Nurse License issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing; and

    2. Possession of a current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR card.
