The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and qualified individual to join the Financial and Support Services team as the Assistant Group Finance Director. This role will help lead efforts related to all aspects of managing HHSA's budget of over $3.2 billion including long-term financial forecasting, development of the recommended Operational Plan, financial monitoring activities, and claiming and reporting of federal and State funds. This position, in tandem with the Executive Finance Director and Group Finance Director, leads these financial-related activities while also providing technical and policy guidance to operating departments and directing a variety of projects as needed.
An integral leader of HHSA’s Financial and Support Services Division (FSSD) team of over 200 employees and a key strategic partner in financial planning with the HHSA executive team, this position will play a key role in advancing employee engagement and help lead financial threading activities across the broader HHSA team.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university or a certified foreign studies equivalency AND three years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the classification OR a combination of education and/or experience as stated above.
Note: A master's degree or higher degree may substitute for a total of one year. For education to substitute for work experience as indicated above, college-level coursework must demonstrate progress toward a degree and may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Qualifying experience will include CAO Staff Officer or Project Manager experience that involves leading projects.
