Are you looking for a great career with even better benefits? Then this position would be a great fit for you! The Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design and Construction (OA-FMDC) has a job opportunity for a Statewide Capital Improvements (CI) Coordinator.

This position will focus on capital asset planning to develop both short- and long-range CI strategies statewide. Develop and maintain a strong planning framework for annual and long-range capital improvement needs; plan, identify and prioritize projects. Manage data into our Missouri Capital Improvement Budget Request (MoCIBR) system. Responsible for assisting agencies in developing and implementing facilities planning and long-range CI strategies. Furthermore, this position will assist with the creation of the annual CI budgets as well as the 5-year plan, job order contracts (JOC), construction services, and emergency projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Identifies statewide CI areas for all agencies; plan, prioritize, and implement strategies to complete projects.
  • Manages expense and capital budgeting processes in a manner that optimizes expenditures and achieves expected results.
  • Collaborates with FMDC Operations and Project Management Units as well as statewide agencies, external stakeholders, and customers.
  • Oversees all facility requests and directs them to the proper units to be completed.


All you need for success:

  • Knowledge of the principles and concepts of: Facilities Management, Project Management, and Construction Estimating.
  • Understanding of business principles, Chapter 8 procurement, and administration of construction budgets.
  • Ability to apply a broad application of capital asset management and strategic planning.
  • Ability to review potential resolutions to issues as well as consider relative costs and benefits to discern an appropriate action.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal staff, statewide agencies, and public officials.
  • Ability to use critical thinking in all aspects of work.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and operational excellence principles and practices.


Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction or business. Relevant work experience may be substituted.
  • Three (3) or more Experience in project design, project management, construction, or related experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of facility capital improvement experience.
