    About the University:

    California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) opened in 2002 as the newest campus in the California State University system.     About the Position:

    To plan, develop and teach graduate MSN and FNP classes online; in the clinical setting; and in the campus skills lab. To carry out other duties associated with lecturer responsibilities to include but not limited to: maintaining accurate student records/clinical grades, coordinating clinical instruction with other faculty; coordinating student experiences with clinical personnel; maintaining communications between the University and clinical agencies; participating in curriculum development; participating in CCNE and BRN accreditation activities including program review and evaluation, curriculum development and revision; participating in curriculum excellence by remaining current in the subject matter and techniques of effective instruction through recent clinical experience and professional development. Responsibilities include: teaching and office hours. Assignment may include day, evening, and weekend classes/clinical labs.

    Minimu m Degree Requirements:

    A Masters degree in nursing or higher from an accredited college or university which includes courses in nursing education.

    Required Qualifications:

    • The successful candidate will possess leadership in teaching of graduate level nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) content area, as well as teaching and student learning outcomes evaluation. Possession of a current active California RN license; current active California FNP license; national FNP certification; at least one year experience teaching courses related to FNP nursing or a course that includes practice in teaching nursing; at least two years continuous full time experience in direct patient care practice as an FNP within the last 3 years or eligibility for the Board of Registered Nurses approval to teach FNP nursing.
    • Applicants should demonstrate the commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Excellent communication and collaborative skills. Flexibility in teaching assignments. Experience with using multiple teaching modalities in a population that includes a wide variety of multicultural learners. Willingness to teach on weekends and evenings.

    Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience. Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range.
