    Texas Tech Physicians Department of Family and Community Medicine is a proud partner of University Medical Center in providing hospitalist care. The Family Medicine Hospitalist Team is made up of 18 Faculty Physicians, who provide hospitalist services for UMC/ 500 bed hospital.

    Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.


    Major/Essential Functions
    • Provide Hospitalist Services at University Medical Center Hospital. This includes patient care, patient admissions, patient rounding, and if needed, emergency night coverage.
    • Performing such medical examinations as are necessary and appropriate for all patients in accordance with all canons of professional ethics.
    • The physician schedule will be "blocking type" rotations with physician working day shifts, one (1) block on duty and one (1) block off duty. A block consists of (7) days (Tuesday through Monday). The schedule assigned is to assure quality patient care and appropriate coverage and functions of TTUHSC/UMC . Shift begins from 7:00 a.m. To 7:00 p.m.
    • Keeping and maintaining appropriate records, reports, claims and correspondence necessary in connection with all professional services performed by the physician.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Hospitalist Medical Director.


    Occasional Duties


    Required Qualifications
    • Completion of a Doctor of Medicine degree
    • Valid professional Texas license or letter stating application for license is in the process.
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
