    General Description and Classification Standards

    The purpose of this job is to perform professional public affairs, internal and external communications duties, and related work.

    Duties include but are not limited to serving as the primary manager of the Council’s social media accounts. Ability to develop and implement a content and engagement strategy that increases awareness of the actions and initiatives of the Atlanta City Council and the City of Atlanta.

    As a member of this office, you will work closely with creative and communications team members to source and adapt content for publication on City platforms. Traveling to events to produce reels for social media. Following trends to elevate and enhance the social media platforms and engagement.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Minimum five years of experience in the field of communications, including at least three years of experience managing the social media accounts of an institution, political campaign, or brand

    Special Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, social media management, public relations, political science, public administration or a related field
    • Experience developing influencer campaigns
    • Experience managing livestreams and social media marketing campaigns

    Preferred Education & Experience
    • 3-5 years of social media management with focus on politics, legislation, project management or public relations experience
    • 3-5 years working in politics or online digital medium
    • 3 years of municipal, other government entity and/or public service organization experience strongly preferred
