    Salary Range: $67,701.42 - $90,304.27

    General Description and Classification Standards

    To oversee the planning, organizing, and coordination of Building & Development Coordinators and administrative support staff as it relates to the building permit process. Duties are performed with considerable initiative and independent judgment under the direction of the division manager. The incumbent must ensure that best-in-class customer service is provided to both internal and external customers and embrace, support, and promote the City’s core values, beliefs, and culture.

    Supervision Received

    Works under limited supervision and reports to Building & Development Manager as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    Minimum Requirements
    • Associate degree or vocational training in topics such as construction and building inspections from an accredited college or university.
    • 5 years of increasingly responsible experience performing customer service at a building permit counter; or a combination of education and experience.

    Special Requirements
    • International Code Council (ICC) Permit Technician Certification is required.
    • Development Service Coordinator Certification is required.
    • Must be eligible to become a Notary Public.

    Preferred Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree or vocational training in construction, building inspections, or related fields.
    • Two or more years of supervisory and managerial experience preferred.
