    Job Location: This position will be located at 930 Wildwood Dr. Jefferson City, MO 65109.

The Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services (DHSS), Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC) is currently accepting applications for a full-time Workforce Development Manager.

    • Collaborate with organizations and facilities to apply for Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) designations where need exists to improve access to health care.
    • Assess the existing workforce's capacity to meet the medical, dental and mental health services needs in Missouri.
    • Provide technical assistance to practitioners, attorneys and other stakeholders, assisting those working to increase access to primary care services and reduce health disparities.
    • Responsible for adherence to deadlines on all program activities, grant requirements, and contract deliverables, including contract development and monitoring compliance.
    • Responsible for submitting timely progress reports, ongoing status updates, along with grant and administrative reports.
    • Responsible for maintaining knowledge of State and Federal regulations and statutes relating to Primary Care Office programs.
    • This position requires some statewide and national travel.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (substitutions may be allowed);.
    • Three or more years of professional experience in public health, mental health, environmental health, education, social services, public or business administration, health care, and/or health care administration;
    • The ideal candidate will possess or quickly gain knowledge of statutes and regulations related to all ORHPC programs and those supported by the ORHPC office.
    • The candidate should possess strong critical thinking, organizational and time management skills.
    • The candidate will be working in a team environment which requires emotional intelligence and requires a professional demeanor when interacting with co-workers and all stakeholders.
    • The ideal candidate will be able to operate in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and the ability to multi-task using various computer software programs.
    • Possess knowledge of individual and community health problems related to public health programs;
    • Have the ability to work with considerable independence performing a wide range of duties to support the program.
    • The candidate should also have expertise in Microsoft Excel and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
