    The Engineer will be part of the Conveyance & Distribution Program Management Team. You will lead project teams in the delivery of multiple Capital Improvement Projects that are of large or above average complexity, are of moderate to high visibility and sensitivity to Metropolitan's core business initiatives, and involve some contact outside of Metropolitan.

    In this position, you will manage projects of multiple capital and/or O&M projects, providing project management expertise on engineering projects and ensuring that engineering service meets Metropolitan’s standards of quality, efficiency, and technical integrity. As a project manager, you will lead the day-to-day management of all project activities as well as assisting or leading the preparation of project proposals; performing and/or directing planning and scoping studies; Secures program and project authorization and funding through the Board letter/Board presentation process; monitoring and controlling project scope, progress, schedules, and budgets, coordinating with Water System Operations and Water Resource Management (customers); identifying and coordinating environmental assessments and documentation; preparing reports; utilizing standard Metropolitan software applications: Microsoft Office Suite and Project; providing regular input and updates to the CIP system; performing other initiatives related to project management or new project evaluations, as needed.

    EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level; OR Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level.

    Relevant Experience is defined as: work in the field of capital infrastructure engineering with specific experience in project management, AND/OR design management, AND/OR construction management. Lead role in a project environment.

    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
    License(s):
    • Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
    • License in good standing as a California Professional Engineer (required at time of application).

Qualified dependents can be added for a flat monthly fee.
