    This position will be filled at a salary no higher than the posted maximum salary.

    Job Location: Central Office, 105 West Capitol Avenue, Jefferson City, MO

    Why you’ll love this position:

    The engineering technician intern is responsible for assisting in the preparation of detailed construction plans for highway bridges related to structures. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.

    • Prepares detailed construction plans for routine bridges, retaining walls and box culverts using computer aided drafting systems.
    • Computes elevations and structural dimensions from sketches and computations supplied by the designer.
    • Makes necessary revisions after plans have been checked or reviewed.
    • Computes reinforcing bar lists and quantities of materials needed for construction.
    • Prepares preliminary detailing for new projects.
    • Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

    • Must have a strong desire to serve others and the communities in our state.
    • Must be a team player and willing to ask questions.
    • Must be enrolled in a relevant associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree program.
    • Must possess, and maintain, an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher out of 4.0.
    • Must have completed at least 30 credit hours.


    Special working conditions and job characteristics:

    • This is a wage, non-benefits eligible position, working no more than 1,039 hours per year.
    • The typical working hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
