Summary of position: We have an exciting opportunity for a
PROGRAM TECHNICIAN to join our team
. The incumbent maintains property tax rolls and performs advanced technical cadastral work relating to maps and examination and interpretation of complex legal descriptions, contracts and other documents that convey interest in real property. The incumbent also maintains the tax parcel layer of GIS, and assists the public in resolving questions relating to the legal descriptions of real property and the effect of various instruments of title. They interact effectively with the different work groups within the office, the staff of the GIS division, title companies, surveyors and the public to accomplish accurate maintenance of tax maps and rolls as well as exercise independent decision making with respect to established policies and guidelines for map and tax roll maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERFORMANCE OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- High School Diploma or GED AND;
- Two years of experience or training directly related to administrative support functions;
- One year of related education may be substituted for one year of experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, OR QUALIFICATIONS:- 3 years of experience in cadastral, cartographic training, computer aided drafting, instruments of title or customer service related to real estate.

- The duties in this position are performed in an office setting, and may be required to lift at least 20 pounds.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE OF DUTIESIn this role you will have the opportunity to: - Review, interpret and process excise affidavits and recorded documents.
- Interpret and apply requirements of statutes and local ordinances as they apply to property conveyance and subdivision.
- Serves as lead of the Cadastral division in the absence of the supervisor.
- Assist property owners, title companies, surveyors, other departments, and jurisdictions in resolving questions related to legal descriptions, cadastral information and/or history of properties.
- Work with property owners and other interested parties to perform property splits, merges, modifications, boundary line adjustments, plats, condominiums, and all other subdivisions.
- Prepare metrics for supervisor and evaluate processes to meet deadlines, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Provide customer service to the public.

Vacation Leave New employees are credited with 48 hours of annual leave upon hire and will be begin accruing at the rate of 8 hours per month starting on their 7th month of employment. Upon completion of 3 years: 15 days per year (10.00 hours per month)
Upon completion of 5 years: 20 days per year (13.33 hours per month)
Upon completion of 10 years: 25 days per year (16.67 hours per month)
Sick Leave All new hires will be credited with 48 hours of sick leave upon hire and will begin accruing at the rate of 8 hours per month starting on their 7th month of employment. Employees may carry over 1200 hours from one calendar year to the next.
