  • Job Description

    The Electric Utilities Department has an immediate opening for a Lineman Helper. If you would like to be a part of the team that supports the City’s electric utility system, we would like to hear from you.

    Job responsibilities include:
    • Supplies line crew personnel with materials needed during performance of work.
    • Operates power hand tools, vehicles and equipment as needed.
    • Stocks trucks with electrical supplies, parts, and equipment.
    • Locates underground electric lines for third-party excavation requests.
    • Performs afterhours reconnects of electric customers.
    • Performs minor services to utility vehicles as needed such as gas, oil, and daily inspections.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or required.


    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. • Must have a valid Texas class A CDL Driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 120 days of employment. • Must live within 20-miles of the Parker County Courthouse due to emergency and stand-by requirements. Relocation is required within 180 days of employment if outside the 20-mile radius.

    What we offer to our Employees:

    Vacation – Employees will accrue 4 weeks of paid time off (Two weeks are automatically credited to the employee’s bank after successful completion of their introductory period, usually 6 months).
