DescriptionUnder moderate supervision, operates photocopy machines and various auxiliary printing equipment to reproduce quick copies and cut, paste, fold, laminate, and assemble printed materials.
Examples of Duties- Operates high speed, large format, and other commercial scale photocopy equipment to reproduce forms, bulletins, charts, graphs, reports, and other printed materials
- Monitors the number of copies made and corrects paper jamming problems
- Adjusts machines for paper size, printing intensity, and desired number of copies
- Periodically adds paper and changes stapling wire
- Replenishes toner, cleans glass, and performs routine maintenance on photocopying equipment
- Hand jogs printed and unprinted pieces of paper
- Uses cutting, folding, industrial three-hole drilling, industrial stitching, strapping, laminating, spiral binding equipment, and binding machines to finish product according to customer's request and assembles, wraps, and ships printed materials

Minimum QualificationsA combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. A typical combination includes:
EducationExperience- Six months of relevant experience operating high speed photocopying machines and simple bindery equipment
Certifications/Licenses/Special Requirements- Must wear approved safety equipment and shoes during performance of duties
Essential KnowledgeKnowledge of(defined as a learned body of information that is required for and applied in the performance of job tasks)
- Functions and operation of high-speed photocopying and simple bindery equipment
- Safety rules for print shops
- Applicable business software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
Skill in(defined as the proficient manual, verbal, or mental utilization of data, people, or things)
- Operating and maintaining high speed photocopying machines
- Operating spiral binding, tying small cutting, and laminating machines
- Proofreading work and identifying errors
- Communicating effectively with others
- Interacting professionally with various levels of Metro employees and outside representatives.
Ability to(defined as a present competence to perform an observable behavior or produce an observable result)
- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Plan and complete work according to established priorities
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
