    CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST II

    RESTRICTED TO PERMANENT EMPLOYEES OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES

    San Fernando Child & Family Center is a directly operated child clinic that provides specialty mental health services for children, adolescents, and families in the San Fernando Valley. Services include testing, assessment, outpatient based treatments, crisis intervention, individual and group therapeutic services. The center is located at 919 1st Street, San Fernando, CA 91340. This is a 5/40 work schedule.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Provides Specialty Mental Health Services for children, adolescents, and families that have high risk factors, impairments in functioning.

    • Completes risk assessments, provides crisis intervention, facilitates family therapy, and provides parenting support to decrease client’s risk as a danger to self and others, improve general daily functioning, improve overall wellbeing.

    • Participates and coordinates with programs treatment teams and psychiatrists to insure appropriate level of care, effectiveness of treatment and advocacy for client and family.

    • Provides Psychological and Diagnostic Assessments.

    • Provides support to psychology interns.

    • Provides case management services with clients and families.

    • • Facilitate/Co-Facilitate youth groups that increase wellbeing and reduce risk factors, improve overall functioning.

    Requirements

    Permanent County of Los Angeles employees currently holding the payroll title of Clinical Psychologist II.

    DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish highly desirable.
    • Knowledge and experience implementing diversity, equity, and inclusive support into practice.
    • Knowledge and familiarity with working with systems.
    • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Flexible and easily adapts to new and changing situations.
    • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary/multiagency environment, multitask, manage time effectively, prioritize and organize.
