    Fleet Equipment Technician II: $24.89 - $29.18
    Fleet Equipment Technician III : $27.41 - $33.30

    The Fleet Equipment Technician II will perform maintenance and repairs on various systems on a diverse fleet with different types of vehicles and equipment to include after hours call-outs for breakdowns and repairs.

    The Fleet Equipment Technician III will perform maintenance and complex repairs on various systems on a diverse fleet with different types of vehicles and equipment to include after hours call-outs for breakdowns and repairs.

    The location and work schedule of this position may include day and evening hours, weekends and holidays as well as being on a rotational On-Call schedule that may require the technician to return to work and or perform repairs in the field.

    This position is considered an essential position which means it is expected that an employee comes to work during any City closure or emergency to include bad weather and any other unexpected events or shutdowns.

You must provide proof of education from an accredited organization or institution. You must also provide proof of your professional licenses or certifications.

    • More than one round of interviews may be required.

    Driving Requirement: These positions requires a license for the operation of commercial vehicles in the state of Texas within one hundred twenty (120) days of employment. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation ( DRE ) requisite . To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months.

    Hours
    • 1st Shift: 5:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
    • 2nd Shift: 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
    • 3rd Shift: 8 pm - 7 am (Sunday - Wednesday)


    Please note: The position location and schedule may change based upon business needs.
    Various day/evening shifts.
    Evening, overnight, weekend and/or holiday hours may be required based upon operational needs.

    City Government
