    Description

    The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for overseeing the account receivable operations of the revenue collections department. This includes managing a small team, ensuring efficient collection of accounts receivable, and assisting with handling delinquent accounts. The manager will also implement strategies to improve collection rates, resolve disputes, and ensure adherence to company policies and relevant regulations. The role requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction, process improvement, and team leadership. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, other counties and municipalities, and the general public.

    HIRING SALARY: $68,140 - $89,252 (Estimated Annual Salary)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The principal duties of this class are performed in both in the field as well as an office environment. Must have ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines. Customer service and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public are essential. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years or more of experience in revenue collections, accounts receivable, or a similar field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
    • Strong knowledge of collections practices, laws, and regulations.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Proficiency in accounting and government software.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Thorough knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
    • Substantial knowledge of modern office procedures, filing systems and procedures.
    • Substantial knowledge of County structure and responsibilities, practices and procedures of assigned Department.
    • Skilled in communicating effectively with others, both orally and in writing, using technical and nontechnical language.
    • Skilled in operating a personal computer using standard or customized software applications appropriate to assigned tasks, including GIS and Web software.
    • Able to perform work with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to conduct field inspections, which may involve walking, standing, and climbing.
    • Exposure to various weather conditions during outdoor inspections.
    • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as needed
    • Able to prioritize workload to maximize efficiency.
    • Able to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.
    • Able to use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to written specifications and/or oral instructions.
    • Able to understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures and instructions.
    • Able and willing to quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information and/or technology.
    • Able to use integrity, ingenuity, and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks.
