    Pay Range: $59,984,328 - $74,979 annual compensation

    Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm; Some evening/weekend work required.

    A Project Control Specialist II job is available with the City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department’s Capital Delivery Division. The position will perform scheduling, reporting, and other project control activities during a capital project’s lifecycle and work closely with project managers and support staff. The project Control Specialist provides technical input for the City’s control system (Primavera P6). This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in project scheduling and gain hands-on experience with large-scale capital projects, including exposure to Primavera P6 and City project construction management.

    This position qualifies for the following incentives which is separate from the base pay:

    Sign-On Incentive of: $2,000 ***50% paid after the completion of first pay period, 50% paid after the completion of 6 months of employment. ***

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as construction management, engineering, business administration, project management, or other related fields.

    Minimum of 2 years of directly related experience in scheduling tools (such as Primavera-P6 and MS Project) or work as project controls for construction, oil and gas, civil, and IT projects.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Five (5) years of related professional experience in project control work on infrastructure capital projects, or EPC
    • Experience with eBuilder, SharePoint, PeopleSoft, Bluebeam, or similar project management software.
    • Experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as advanced Excel and Power BI.
    • Experience with high-volume scheduling and project reporting.
    • Possession of the related certifications from AACE or PMI: Certified Associate in Project Management Manager (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Project Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP).

    The Project Control Specialist II job responsibilities include:
    • Assists in creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and developing baseline schedules for capital projects. Updates and maintains Critical Path Method (CPM) and baseline project schedules by utilizing city requirements and contract specifications.
    • Works closely with project and program managers to evaluate schedule status and provide recommendations to address delays or expedite schedules.
    • Develop and maintain baseline and update monthly progress schedules for infrastructure capital projects.
    • Coordinate with engineers and contractors on developing city master schedules and review submitted baseline and monthly engineers' and contractors' schedules aligned with the city contract specifications.
    • Knowledge and practice of standard project control principles, project schedule methodology, and project budget.
    • Updates, monitors, reviews, and performs quality control checks for the accuracy and integrity of the project data.
    • Provide schedule control analysis and cash flow projections and prepare and develop customized reports, including KPIs.

    Physical Demand

    Sedentary Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

    Medical Program

    The City offers two plan options through Meritain Health, an Aetna company.

    Wellness Program

    The city’s Healthy Challenge Wellness Program rewards all full-time, benefit-eligible employees on the city’s health insurance. The Healthy Challenge Program utilizes a points system. Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward. By participating, individuals can earn $150, $200 or $250 by accumulating program points.
