    Overview

The County Court Division of the District Attorney's Office seeks a legal assistant to provide the professional staff with responsible legal assistance and technical support.

County court legal assistants maintain mild to heavy caseloads in a trial division and share tasks in smaller courtrooms. Legal assistants are primarily in charge of case data entry. During trial, legal assistants will coordinate witnesses and assist with AV equipment. They also maintain trial spreadsheets to assist in trial coordination and calendar meetings for attorneys with witnesses and victims. They interact with the public by taking calls and answering questions regarding cases and will communicate with law enforcement regarding reports. A legal assistant in this division should be comfortable communicating, training, and taking initiative as they are typically assigned newer DDAs. Employees in this role will be successful if they enjoy multitasking, working in a team, and have flexibility in helping cover our Fort Collins and Loveland locations.

This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week, but Legal Assistants are expected to be available during trials, so periodic flexibility will be required. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. After a 90-day probationary period, staff may be given a telecommuting option 1-2 days per week.

Applicants must upload a cover letter to Erica Valdivia, Legal Staff Manager.
