    Job Summary

    Hiring Range: $62,400 to $72,727 annually, depending on qualifications

    Do you have experience with geographic information system software? Do you like to give data meaning through maps, graphs, and charts? The City of Olathe is looking for a qualified candidate to fill our GIS Analyst position. The GIS Analyst creates and maintains departmental GIS spatial and non-spatial data. Generates reports, maps, graphs, charts, or other output in support of departmental business processes. Analyzes GIS spatial and non-spatial data for quality control/quality assurance purposes.

    The GIS Analyst creates , maintains , and analyzes departmental GIS spatial and non-spatial dat a for quality control and assurance purposes . They g enerate reports, maps, graphs, charts, or other output in support of departmental business processes . The GIS Analyst I is the first level in a three-level career progression of GIS Analyst I-III.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Researches, creates, and maintains GIS spatial and non-spatial data, as well as CMMS data .
    • Participates in evaluating business processes to effectively integrate GIS spatial and non-spatial data ; provides first-line QA /QC for all GIS spatial data .
    • Provides technical support for all GIS applications across desktop, network, and web platforms ; collects GPS and attribute field data ; manages process documen tation .


    Qualifications

    Experience: One year of ex perience with ESRI’s geographic information system software and work order/asset management experience is r equired .

    Education: A Bachelor's degree in Earth Science or a related field is required. A GIS certificate and additional work experience may be substituted for education.

    Licenses & Certifications: A valid driver's license and favorable driving record are required.
