    Job Overview

    This Pharmacist in Charge position within Student Health & Counseling Services is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department pharmacy ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal laws and regulations. Other responsibilities include filling prescriptions and providing education and consultation to patients, providing consultation to medical providers regarding medication selection, dosage, administration actions, side effects, availability, cost, and alternate medication therapies. This position maintains an agreed upon over the counter and prescription formulary inventory to provide the lowest medication cost for students and makes recommendations for possible formulary changes when indicated. This position is responsible for ensuring all pharmacy permits are current and appropriate, drugs are stored properly to prevent loss or deterioration, and that prescription drugs and devices are secure and have limited access. This position must take brief medication histories, provide confidential consultation to patients in compliance with HIPAA/FERPA, and keep medication profiles on patients. This position will provide consultation and guidance to the department to ensure clinic processes related to ordering, storing, and dispensing medication compliant with relevant state and federal laws and regulations.

    This is a part-time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.

    Pay, Benefits, and Work Schedule

    Anticipated Hiring Salary Amount: $10,000 per month

    CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,970 - $13,451 per month

    Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.

    This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.

    This position is required to work in person on campus.
