    Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

    The Education for Homeless Children and Youths (EHCY) program, authorized under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (McKinney-Vento Act), is designed to address the needs of homeless children and youths and ensure educational rights and protections for these children and youths.

    • Assist in the administration of the Department's McKinney Vento Homeless Children and Youth Program.
    • Assist in the coordination of monitoring for all sub grantees and maintaining required compliance documentation.
    • Assist in the coordination of all planning, implementation and evaluation of grant activities to assist schools in improving student performance.
    • Assist with implementation of the Homeless Education state plan.
    • Conduct Tiered Monitoring of LEAs to ensure statewide compliance with the training plan and McKinney-Vento requirements.
    • Ensure quality program and training compliance plans are implemented and completed, as necessary.
    • Develop written and on-line publications such as manuals, applications, data collection tools, and program evaluation reports.
    • Attend national, regional, and state meetings focused on homeless education.
    • Plan, coordinate, and conduct technical assistance and information workshops for Department, state, and national audiences related to homeless education requirements, effective program planning, data-driven decision making, professional development, grant writing, and program evaluation.
    • Committee of Practitioners participant.
    • Review technical documents as requested by the Director.
    • Attend regional and national conferences relating to the job description.
    • Participate in Department committees, taskforces, and review teams as assigned.
    • Attend state and national meetings as requested by the Department.
    • Perform other related work as assigned.
    • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in education, social work, guidance or counseling or any related field.


    OR

    • 4 years’ experience working with, homeless students and their families, and possession of a high school diploma or equivalency.
