    The Job

    Additional EMS Training Differential of 13.5%

    San Bernardino County Fire Protection District is recruiting for an EMS Training Officer who coordinates, plans and monitors training related to Emergency Medical Services (E.M.S.). Responsibilities include a dministrating the Continuing Education Provider program with the Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency (ICEMA); ensures department compliance with program policies and State EMS statues and regulations; and develops lessons plans and evaluates current training practices.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Background: A successful background check, job-related physical exam, and a drug test are required prior to assignment.

    Work Schedule: Candidates may be required to work on call, overtime, and evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

    License: Must possess and maintain a valid State of California Paramedic License. Must obtain and maintain ICEMA Paramedic Certification and PALS certification within nine (9) months of hire or may be terminated.

    BLS/ACLS Certifications: Must possess and maintain a valid BLS and ACLS card.

    Travel: Travel within and outside the County may be required. A valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be provided at time of hire and maintained throughout employment.

    Minimum Requirements

    EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of experience working as a registered, licensed Paramedic.
    --AND-- LICENSE:
    Valid California Paramedic License. A copy must be attached to your application.
    --AND-- CERTIFICATIONS: Current certification from American Heart Association (AHA) for ACLS and BLS. A copy must be attached to your application.

    Desired Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have experience administering, monitoring, developing lesson plans, and facilitating training sessions in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) sector. Additionally, the candidate will hold a PHTLS Instructor certification, along with CA State Fire Training Instructor certification or equivalent, or NAEMSE Accreditation. A bachelor’s degree is highly desired.
