Job Location: This position will be located at the Harry S Truman Building, 301 W High St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

Our internship in the Division of Facilities Management, Design and Construction’s (FMDC) Construction Administration Unit (CAU) offers an opportunity to receive meaningful work experience in the design and construction fields. You will perform entry-level tasks while taking part in skills development activities and projects. The internship schedule is flexible at 20-40 hours per week.
What you’ll do: - Assist in the coordination of construction projects for the State of Missouri
- Observe work crews and contractors for compliance with project work plans and objectives
- Assist in reviewing design plans and specifications to ensure design quality, and prepare review comments
- Attend design, pre-bid, pre-construction, and construction progress meetings with FMDC project managers
All you need for success:Minimum Qualifications - Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program or in a technical or vocational college
- Knowledge of construction and trade areas, safety requirements, and methods
- Ability to identify construction issues and propose resolutions
- The ability to interpret plans and specifications, and understand basic design concepts
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Detail-oriented
