Description: Job Description Summary: As our
Concrete Finisher , you will be responsible for performing concrete repair, maintenance, construction and finishing work for the Road and Bridge Division. You will smooth and finish poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, inlets, retaining walls or curbs to specified textures. Float groove and edge surfaces as required . Build and repair bridge decks, drop boxes, head and wing walls, curb and gutter, sidewalks, flow pan and ADA ramps as necessary. Operate and/or drive equipment or vehicles used in the construction, maintenance, snow plowing and repair of county roads. Follow all safety rules and regulations.
S ch edule : This position typically operates on 4-day work week, Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm.
Compensation: Anticipated Hiring Range: $28.10 -$33 USD Hourly
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

Essential Duties: - Responsible for smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, inlets, retaining walls, or curbs to specified textures to provide a pleasing appearance and a sound structure.Prepare concrete base including setting wood forms and positioning steel; measure and pour concrete; finish concrete; remove wooden forms, backfill soil, and clean site. Finish concrete to a level plane and sound structure by screening, floating, troweling, and brooming. Float groove and edge surface as required . Build and repair bridge decks, drop boxes, head and wing walls, curb and gutter, sidewalks, flow pan, and ADA ramps as necessary.
- Read and interpret plans to set forms and fasten steel rods and braces.
- Perform construction site tasks by assisting with needed actions. Ensureflagging,traffic control, public safety and crew safety requirements are met for work zone. Act as lead worker for small crews.
- Safely operate and drive equipment or vehicles used in the construction, maintenance, snow plowing, and repair of county roads.Perform equipment and vehicle pre/post-trip inspections as defined by federal guidelines, and inspect other items affecting safe operations. Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance, as necessary.
- Inspect and prepare all equipment for use by performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and equipment, including fueling, cleaning, lubricating, and changing tires. Plan and request maintenance service and repair for specific equipment. Prepare equipment for specific uses by making necessary modifications.
- Report incidents, accidents, traffic violations, damage to equipment, vehicles, and utilities.
- Ensure the various components of the Road & Bridge Safety Management Program are adhered to including the proper use of PPE. Ensure a safe environment consistent with regulatory and organizational requirements and needs.
- Keep time, activity, mileage records, and logs.
- Respond to emergencies and snow removal operations 24 hours a day seven days a week. Report to an assigned shop within one hour of being called.
- Responsible for assisting with the basic development and training of fellow employees.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned at various locations.

M inimum Qualifications: - Experience: Three year of general concrete work or similar.
- Education: High School diploma
- Or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Experience with concrete finishing, ADA ramps, sitting forms, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.
- Experience with building concrete walls
- Experience reading blueprints and engineering surveys
- Experience with Skidsteer
Additional Job Information:
- Offer of employment contingent upon successful completion of criminal history, motor vehicle report, education verification, and/or references.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, background check, and Motor Vehicle Record check.
- Valid Driver’s License for 2 consecutive years prior to hire date. If from out of state, must obtain a Colorado Driver’s License within 30 days of hire.
- Mustobtaina valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) withTanker endorsement andAirBrake restriction removed as well as a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) medical cardwithin 6 months of hire.
- Must acquire Flagger Certification within six weeks of hire.
- May be required to obtain Traffic Control Supervisor,Stormwater Management, and/orErosion Controlcertifications.
- May be required to obtain a Class A CDL and a Hazmat endorsement.
