    Full-time position available with the Health Department, Environmental Health Division located at 2400 Troost Ave
    Salary Range: $24.77-$37.16/hour
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversees and manages field inspectors and their daily activities.
    • Consults and collaborates with other professionals and agencies involved in providing social services, to include maintaining a current list of new and available resources for tenants needing assistance.
    • Works with the Office of the Tenant Advocate to make and receive referrals to assist tenants as needed.
    • Maintains My Civic and internal database complaints daily for the Program and processes all inspection case files for data entry and status update.
    • Helps to prepare, organize, and implement plan to execute large scale inspections in the field.
    • Emergency response in the field could be required when immediate assistance or additional services are needed.
    • Conducts joint and audit inspections with field staff as needed, including assisting with onboarding, and training new inspector staff.
    • Assists with enforcement duties such as posting/suspending properties for non-compliance and follow up to gain compliance.
    • Creates processes and writing policy and procedures will be necessary for the Program.
    • Attends outreach events, meetings, and trainings to represent the Program in addition to planning special events.
    • Performs additional duties that can be assigned by Management. ¿



    Qualifications

    REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields.; OR an accredited Master's degree in Public Health; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Must pass a preemployment drug screen and post offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
