    Job Location: This position will be located at 930 Wildwood, Jefferson City, MO 65109.

    This position will oversee a dedicated research and data team focusing on HIV, STI and Communicable Disease data management and analysis. Responsibilities include developing and overseeing systems for data quality control and assurance, management and distribution of communicable disease data, and managing data staff operations. This individual will use the latest data science practices to ensure focus on data integrity, validity and reliability in accordance with standard processes and regulatory standards. As a Research and Data Analysis Manager, this position will have the opportunity to develop, lead, and conduct a broad and complex range of investigative and analytical studies utilizing infection disease data and other public health datasets in support of public health strategic planning and initiatives.

    • Develop and implement strategies necessary to coordinate and conduct surveillance, epidemiologic studies and evaluation associated with HIV, STI and Communicable Disease data.
    • Coordinate data management activities, ensure data quality, provide data analysis and produce reports.Ensure timely and complete responses to data requests from internal and external partners.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance the program process, streamline data collection and analysis, and implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Conduct quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the program data, including data validation check and data reconciliation.
    • Travel in and out of state to support local public health efforts and present research at both local and national levels.
    • Supervise and manage a team of four communicable disease data staff. Triage data requests, track assignments and provide guidance and training to the team.
    • Serve as liaison to local and federal partners to support best practices for communicable disease surveillance and data sharing.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, Data Science or a related technical discipline with 4+ years of work experience; -OR- 2) Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, Data Science, Public Health or a related technical discipline with 2+ years of work experience; -OR- 3) equivalent combination of education, technical training, and/or work experience (substitutions may be allowed).
    • Proficient in SAS and other statistical software programs.
    • Basic knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, and procedures applied in public health surveillance systems
    • Prior supervision experience preferred.
    • Highly organized and detail oriented with strong analytic, written and verbal communication skills.
