Associate Customer Service Representative - Business Tax Sales/Use Refunds

Annual Salary: $34,999.68
Location: Truman Building - 301 West High Street, Jefferson City, MO

HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:
If you want to serve your public by assisting Missourians with exemptions from tax, this position is the one for you. The Business Tax Exemptions team processes registration applications for nonprofit organizations and assists customers with inquires related to sales and use taxability. In the Exemptions section, you will do thorough research and gain an understanding of Missouri’s sales tax statutes and regulations in order to assist customers with all their tax-exempt needs.
DUTIES PERFORMED TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:
This description may not include all the duties, knowledge, skills, or abilities associated with this title.
• Process registration applications for nonprofit organizations.
• Maintain nonprofit sales accounts with changes to registration information.
• Review and respond to email and telephone correspondence regarding exemption applications and taxability questions.
• Assist with special projects.
Assist customers in person in the Tax Information Office. .

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Possess a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency (GED).
• Six (6) or more months of experience in clerical or general office support work preferred.
• Thoroughness and accuracy in work production.
• Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Office.
• Self-motivation and ability to meet deadlines.
