Job Description
Job Location: This position will be located at 912 Wildwood, Jefferson City, MO 65109. This position is not eligible for remote work.
As a Human Resources Assistant, you will have the opportunity to conduct a variety of human resources duties on a daily basis. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to process payroll transactions, the hiring process for an assigned area, answer various questions, and to interact with DHSS team members throughout the department.- Process and track all personnel transactions for the assigned divisions of the department
- Assist hiring managers through the hiring process
- Prepare and maintain various reports and databases
- Answer phone calls and refer callers to the appropriate Program Coordinator
- Enter deductions and other payroll information
- Assist employees and managers with payroll and benefit questions and the Employee Self-Service Portal
- Assist in the onboarding process of new hires
- Other duties as assigned
- 2-4 years of relevant experience (Substitutions may be allowed)
- Knowledge of federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and policies and procedures as applied to human resources areas and programs
- Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy
- Strong attention to detail
