The process of Election Administration is project driven and very detail oriented. The position of Applications Support Technician configures, maintains, and supports Elections systems and applications, researches and implements technology solutions for the Elections department, and works with users to support and understand applications.

- Works with users to support Elections applications and investigates operational problems/system requirements.
- Provides basic hardware support for office and elections equipment.
- Assists with the configuration, testing, and implementation of new and existing applications, software systems, modules, or functionality.
- Sets up and maintains user system access and roles according to established procedures; provides troubleshooting, account unlocks, password resets.
- Develops and modifies reports from applications.
- Develops, prepares, and updates user manuals, procedures, process flows, and training materials. Provides guidance and training as needed to users.
- Coordinates set-up, testing, maintenance, and support of technical equipment at Elections facilities, including Voter Service and Polling Centers.
- Prioritizes and resolves issues; routes appropriate issues to internal team or vendor; tracks the progress of service and problem resolution; regularly communicates with coworkers to keep them informed of the status of their requests.
- Monitors and analyzes Election laws, including statutes and rules proposed by the Colorado State Legislature and the Colorado Department of State; verifies that Elections applications and systems operate in compliance with all Election statutes and rules.

What we're looking for:
- Be proficient with general office practices and procedures and routine software and business applications including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Read and comprehend department and County rules, regulations, policies and standard operating procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
- Have familiarity with database concepts, data extraction, and reporting.
- Demonstrate ability to read and understand applications.
- Have knowledge of troubleshooting tools and techniques related to Elections applications.
- Show familiarity with applications analysis and issue resolution (troubleshooting) skills.
- Use strong user and client relationship management skills.
- Have the technical aptitude to understand assigned applications in sufficient depth.
- Successfully work in a stressful, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

- Two (2) years of related applications support or systems support experience required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
