If so, we invite you to apply for the Business Analyst position in the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) on the Business Analysis Services team. This is an entry-level professional position accountable for determining business needs and translating them into functional specifications. The business analyst will define the systems scope, objectives, and functionality based on user input and understanding of business processes. This position provides the basis for the design or modification of information systems through business analysis and documents requirements. The Business Analyst is typically assigned work on more moderate complexity and/or impact/risk projects/systems.

    This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) Business Analysis Services team.

    • Mentor, coach, and promote skill development and best practices across BA teams.
    • Serve as a liaison between business clients and developers.
    • Requirements gathering and elicitation.
    • Facilitate process mapping sessions.
    • Document current and future process flows.
    • Interpret functionality requirements.
    • Create Technical Specification documentation.
    • Develop test scripts.
    • Assist with QA testing.
    • Provide user acceptance testing guidance.
    • Work collaboratively with project management staff.
    • Actively participate in project teams.
    • Facilitate the delivery of services and continuing improvement efforts.


    • Ability to create and understand process diagrams, flowcharts, and business models.
    • Ability to identify and define problem statements, scope, objectives, and functionality of a project.
    • Ability to translate technical terminology into easy-to-understand terms.
    • Skilled in outlining and documenting project scope, objectives, and writing use cases.
    • Skilled in translating business processes into information technology requirements.
    • Ability to assess situations, including risks and benefits, receive feedback from stakeholders, and select a course of action

      Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • ITSD experience preferred.
    • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
