The
Department of Social Services partners with families and communities to protect children, rehabilitate youth and move families to self-sufficiency so that Missourians can lead safe, healthy and productive lives.
- Perform fiscal monitoring of internal operations and external subrecipients and/or contractors to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, grant agreements, and contractual requirements.
- Adhere to prescribed timelines for the fiscal monitoring process starting with the initial agency communication of requesting documentation to issuing the fiscal monitoring report and, if applicable, closing any potential corrective action plans.
- Formulate recommendations for improved internal controls, policies, methods, systems, and procedures designed to help achieve the goals of the agency.
- Utilize word processing, spreadsheet, and database software for completing monitoring tools and reports.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Preferred Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Public or Business Administration, or a closely related field. Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing expenditures of state and federal funds. Skills in critical and analytical thinking and in being detail-oriented. Ability to communicate findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner, meet deadlines, foster a cooperative environment, and promote collaboration.
