    The Job

    The San Bernardino County Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector (ATC) is recruiting for an Automated Systems Analyst (ASA) II - ATC who is responsible for server and network infrastructure support, as well as second tier support on desktop environments. ASA II's are responsible for diverse information systems that may include interfaces to other County enterprise systems. Essential duties include senior-level system administration, advanced troubleshooting skills, network design and management, database and server administration, evaluation and recommendation of new technologies, capacity planning, writing hardware and software specifications, and interacting with vendors and other departments.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check, including fingerprinting and polygraph for some positions, and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment.

    Shift Availability: Must be available to work different shifts. The County pays an hourly differential for those employees working night shifts.

    Minimum Requirements

    CANDIDATES MUST MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

    EXPERIENCE
    Must possess two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional experience (gained within the last five (5) years) in technical support and systems administration within a Microsoft networked environment. This experience must include:
    • Supporting Microsoft Windows desktops within a networked environment
    • Providing user and desktop support across an organization
    • Maintaining file and print servers
    • Administering Active Directory and related user access/security settings
    • Performing networking functions and troubleshooting
    -AND-
    Must demonstrate three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in three (3) or more of the following specialized areas:
    • Microsoft Windows 10/11 desktop operating systems
    • Microsoft Office 365 administration and support
    • Microsoft Azure platform administration
    • Mobile device support (Apple iOS, Android, Windows OS)
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or newer
    • Veeam Backup, Restore, and Disaster Recovery tools
    • Dell Direct-Attached Storage (DAS) and Storage Area Networks (SAN)
    • Cisco wired and wireless network infrastructure support
    • VMware virtual server infrastructure
    • Microsoft Active Directory (domain, group policy, replication)
    • Microsoft System Center (SCCM or similar)
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or newer
    • Microsoft SharePoint 2016 or newer


    EDUCATION
    Must possess thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed coursework in information technology, computer sciences, or a closely related field -OR-a certificate as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, or Cisco Certified Network Administrator may substitute for the required education.

    *Education Substitution: Two (2) additional years of qualifying experience can substitute for the education/certification requirement.

    EDUCATION
    Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.     Desired Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have:

    Cybersecurity Expertise:
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in cybersecurity operations, including:
      • Threat monitoring, analysis, and remediation using tools such as Malwarebytes and Windows Defender
      • Use of compliance software to assess and maintain system security
      • Development and documentation of security policies and standards
      • Patch management using SCCM or similar platforms

    Enterprise Infrastructure Support:
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing Tier II or Tier III support in an enterprise environment involving:
      • Intune Administration
      • SCCM Administration
      • Manage Engine Administration
        • Service Desk Plus
        • Endpoint Central
        • AD Audit
      • Active Directory in a domain-joined enterprise environment
        • AD Administration
        • DNS
        • DHCP
      • Project Management

    Certifications:
    A current cybersecurity certification such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or equivalent is highly desirable.
