    Job Announcement

    The City of Chandler Neighborhood Resources Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Recreation Specialist for the Housing Youth program. This is a regular, fulltime position with benefits. This position is scheduled to work 40 hours on a 5x8 schedule (Monday-Friday) during CUSD academic calendar and academic intersessions, and a 4x10 schedule (Monday-Thursday) during the summer.

    Who we are
    The Neighborhood Resources Housing & Redevelopment Division is the City of Chandler Public Housing Authority which oversees and manages Public Housing units and the Housing Choice Voucher: Section 8 program. Our primary focus is to provide affordable rental housing for low-income households. The Housing Youth Program serves the children and youth living in Chandler’s four Public Housing family sites.

    Who we are looking for
    Our new team member will have a passion for youth development and experience developing and implementing youth programing. We are seeking a creative and self-motivated individual, with at least one (1) year of experience working with youth who leads by example to join our inclusive team.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED equivalency; and
    • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a youth recreation or adult activity program; and
    • Valid Arizona’s Driver’s License with acceptable driving record; and
    • First Aid and CPR/AED certifications may be required depending on assignment; or
    • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

    Desirable Qualifications
    • Three (3) years college preparation in Recreation, Physical Education, or related field.

    The position available is regular full-time position and is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for four (4) months should another position become available.
