    The Position

    Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.

    Under direction, Personnel Analyst 1s perform entry level professional personnel work as described in the series concept in one or more functional areas in Human Resource Management or a State agency.

    The Nevada Department of Transportation seeks a Personnel Analyst 1 to join the Human Resources Team in Carson City. Duties for this position will involve recruitment and selection, determining applicant eligibility and certification of hiring pools, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and Department policies. The Personnel Analyst 1 will attend and participate in job fairs.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field; OR three years of experience as a Personnel Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.     Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
