    Pay Range: $44.99/hr. - $58.48/hr.

    Pay Range: $93,574/annually - $121,646/annually

    A Branch Services’ Division Lead position is available at the Fort Worth Public Library. The position provides administrative oversight for all twenty (20) branch libraries within the Fort Worth Public Library system; develops and implements policies and procedures; manages relationships with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies; and provides complex administrative support to the Assistant Library Director and Library Director. This position will report to the Library Operations Center, located at 8628 Camp Bowie West Blvd, Fort Worth, TX. 76116.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Master’s degree from an ALA accredited college or university with major course work in library and information science
    • Six years of increasing responsible professional library experience
    • Three years of administrative and supervisory responsibility
    • Valid Texas Driver's License


    The Branch Services Division Lead’s responsibilities include:
    • Championing the Library’s strategic goals and initiatives with the system’s mission, vision, and core values in mind.
    • Assuming management responsibility for assigned services and activities of the Library’s Branch Services Division, including the development and administration of policies and procedures, the provision of various library services and the maintenance of the facilities.
    • Supervising staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions.
    • Managing and participating in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities for assigned division.
    • Monitoring and evaluating the quality, responsiveness, efficiency and effectiveness of assigned library programs, service delivery methods and procedures; and works with employees on the continuous improvement of city services.
    • Representing the City’s libraries to other departments, elected officials, and outside agencies; and coordinating assigned activities with those.
    • Responding to and resolving sensitive community members and patron inquiries and complaints.
    • Overseeing and participating in the development and administration of the annual budget for the division. Participating in the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; monitors and approves expenditures; and implement adjustments.
    • Preparing and presenting staff reports and other necessary correspondence; and providing staff assistance to the library’s executive team.
    • Conducting a variety of organizational studies, investigations and operational studies; and recommending modifications to library programs, services, policies, and procedures.
    • Attending and participating in professional group meetings; and staying abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of library management.


    What We're Looking For:
    • Knowledge of current library trends, technology, research methods, relevant laws, outcome-based evaluation, budgeting, and departmental policies.
    • Skilled in project management, communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, critical thinking, and producing clear, well-organized written materials.
    • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, interpret complex information, and adapt to change with a collaborative and flexible approach.
    • Ability to work at and travel to various library locations as needed.
    • Availability to work evenings and weekends as part of a rotating schedule or in response to operational needs.


    Working Conditions and Physical Demands

    Work environment and physical demands may vary by assignment. Tasks may require standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and other physical activities. Most positions are considered Sedentary Work, typically involving sitting with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force.     Medical Program

    The City offers two plan options through Meritain Health, an Aetna company.

    The Health Center Plan – Offers employees and their family’s

Also, services are available at any one of the five satellite locations that serves employees across the city.

    The Consumer Choice Plan – Is offered to employees at no cost or low monthly premiums to cover eligible dependents and provides the financial benefits of a Health Savings Account (HSA).

    • Preventative services are covered at 100% on both plans.
    • Prescription Drug coverage including mail order pharmacy are also included.

    Vacation

    Eligible for 3 weeks of vacation: After successful completion of probationary period (usually
    6 months), employees may take time off for rest, relaxation, vacation, illness, religious observances, and personal business.

    Holidays

    Available on the first day of employment, the city provides employees with paid holidays, including two personal holidays.

    Wellness Program

    The city’s Healthy Challenge Wellness Program rewards all full-time, benefit-eligible employees on the city’s health insurance. The Healthy Challenge Program utilizes a points system. Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward. By participating, individuals can earn $150, $200 or $250 by accumulating program points.
