    Job Description

    The Sport Clubs Coach I (Dance Club Assistant Coach) is responsible for assisting with coaching of the assigned Dance club(s).

    Duties

    General: Responsible for assisting in cleaning and refining of team routines, providing detailed feedback to dancers for performance improvement. Supports the Head Coach in planning and executing practices, events, and performances. Supervises practices, events, or competitions in the absence of the Head Coach.

    Administrative: The coach will assist club leadership with short and long-term goals and a plan of action for the academic year.

    Other: Performs other duties as assigned to support the department, division, and university.

    Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Experience : (Note any additional knowledge, skills, experience, and education, that are required or that you think are important for this position.)

    Requirements:
    • Candidates must have, as a minimum: two years experience coaching at the youth, high school, junior college or collegiate club level and be a High School Graduate/GED
    • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree

    Two years experience coaching at the youth, high school, junior college or collegiate club level and be a High School Graduate/GED. Candidates need to effectively communicate with a diverse student population, have demonstrated leadership skills, organizational skills and experience commensurate with coaching at the collegiate club level.

    Pay & Work Schedule

    Hourly wage is commensurate with knowledge, skills and experience. This is a seasonal, hourly, part time position typically from September through May of the following year. Travel is required for competitions. Practices are typically 3 days per week September through April, with 35 Athletics games during the season and some Dance Competitions (mainly in Southern California). Typical schedule will be 4-10 hours weekly when classes are in session.

    Expected hiring wage of $20-$25 per hour.
