    A Business Process Manager is available within Emergency Management & Communications.

    As part of our continued evolution and dedication to public safety, the newly formed Emergency Management & Communications (EM&C) Department is seeking a skilled and strategic Business Process Manager to lead our Public Safety Technology Team within our Emergency Communications division.

    This is an opportunity to help reimagine what emergency management and communications looks like in one of America's most dynamic urban centers. With the creation of this new department, Fort Worth is uniquely positioned to build a first-class, nationally recognized emergency management and communications program rooted in innovation, coordination, and resilience - with strong support from the department’s 911 Administrator, Emergency Management Coordinator, and Director.

    The EM&C Department plays a vital role in safeguarding the community by:
    • Coordinating disaster and emergency response efforts, 911 access, and collaboration among first responders and public safety partners,
    • Leading public preparedness initiatives and maintaining communication systems-such as emergency alerts and real-time information sharing-to keep the public informed and protected,
    • Supporting recovery and mitigation efforts to minimize future risks, restore essential services, and strengthen community resilience.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Business or a related business process field.
    • Five (5) years of increasing responsible experience in communications, security, and/or computer operations, plus two (2) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.
    • Valid Texas driver’s license.
    • Must meet CJIS requirements - see further.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Business or a related business process field.
    • Experience leading technology or business process initiatives in a public safety, emergency communications, 911, or emergency management setting.
    • Project Management or Business Analysis certification (e.g., PMP, CBAP, Agile, Lean Six Sigma) is a plus.

    The Business Process Manager job responsibilities include:
    • Lead a forward-thinking team that drives the adoption and optimization of innovative technology solutions supporting both the Emergency Communications division and the Office of Emergency Management.
    • Serve as a strategic connector between operations and ITS, helping the department adapt to the rapidly evolving landscape of public safety technology.
    • Translate complex business needs into functional, scalable system solutions that improve emergency response, preparedness, and service delivery to the Fort Worth community.
    • Play a key role in modernizing internal systems and processes-ensuring the department remains agile, resilient, and ready to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
    • Overseeing the administration and continuous improvement of mission-critical systems used in 911 operations, emergency response coordination, and long-term hazard planning.
    • Leading user-focused system testing, training, and implementation efforts that support both day-to-day operations and large-scale emergency readiness.
    • Driving innovation in business process design and data utilization to enhance decision-making, efficiency, and responsiveness across the department.
    • Collaborating with IT Solutions and stakeholders to align technology strategies with the evolving needs of emergency communications and emergency management services for the community.

    Medical Program

    The City offers two plan options through Meritain Health, an Aetna company.

    The Health Center Plan – Offers employees and their family’s

Employees can visit any one of the three City of Fort Worth Employee Health Centers and receive guaranteed same or next day appointments for sick visits. Also, services are available at any one of the five satellite locations that serves employees across the city.

    The Consumer Choice Plan – Is offered to employees at no cost or low monthly premiums to cover eligible dependents and provides the financial benefits of a Health Savings Account (HSA).

    • Preventative services are covered at 100% on both plans.
    • Prescription Drug coverage including mail order pharmacy are also included.

    Vacation

    Eligible for 3 weeks of vacation: After successful completion of probationary period (usually
    6 months), employees may take time off for rest, relaxation, vacation, illness, religious observances, and personal business.

    Holidays

    Available on the first day of employment, the city provides employees with paid holidays, including two personal holidays.

    Wellness Program

    The city’s Healthy Challenge Wellness Program rewards all full-time, benefit-eligible employees on the city’s health insurance. The Healthy Challenge Program utilizes a points system. Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward. By participating, individuals can earn $150, $200 or $250 by accumulating program points.
