Job Summary
Starting Salary: $45.47 - $59.66
Performs professional engineering and administrative work supervising the Engineering Section. An employee in this position supervises engineering professionals for development review, design projects, flood mitigation plan, and regulations. Considerable independent judgment and initiative is exercised in carrying out the daily operations of the Section. Work also involves some field travel, inspection, public meetings, and presentations. Directs and coordinates, through assigned managerial personnel, activities of Division programs to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel. Assist City Engineer in formulating and administering policies and procedures, developing goals and objectives, and assisting with various tasks as assigned by City Engineer. Work is performed under the direction of the City Engineer and is reviewed through conferences, periodic written reports, and observation of results achieved.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible engineering experience ; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Two (2) years of local government experience preferred . Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida required. Valid Florida Driver’s License required. Registration as a Certified Floodplain Manager required within six (6) months of employment.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
