Job Location: This position is located at Hawthorn Children's Psychiatric Hospital, 1901 Pennsylvania Ave., St. Louis, MO 63133, with additional duties occurring at St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center-South located at 5300 Arsenal St., St. Louis, MO 63139.

St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center provides an array of mental health services to a population primarily comprised of adults 18 years and older. Clients receive a variety of treatments with an overall goal to develop the skills needed to safely and successfully return to a meaningful life in the community.
Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital uses the Sanctuary Model to guide our interactions with our teammates and the care we provide to our consumers in order to promote healing, safety, and nonviolence. This is accomplished by following the Foundation of Sanctuary - The Four Pillars of (1) Trauma Theory, (2) Seven Commitments, (3) S.E.L.F. (Safety, Emotion, Loss, and Future), (4) Sanctuary Tool Kit.
• Participate in the hospital’s mission by orienting direct care staff and medical staff to nutritional aspects of care
• Conduct Nutrition Assessments in timely manner and chart on clients per policy
• Recommend diet changes and supplementation as needed
• Attend and participate in treatment team meetings as related to client care
• Provide nutrition groups to clients weekly
• Help develop and meet nutrition-related goals
*At Hawthorn:
• Review and approve menus
• Provide overview of dietary protocols to new nursing and doctor employees
• Assist to develop and adjust policies to be compliant with TJC standards
• Collaboratively work with Kitchen Food Service Manager and staff to ensure nutritional needs are met
• Prepare and present quality assurance data as needed
Minimum Qualifications:A successful candidate must meet the minimum qualification in order to determine eligibility. Allowable experience and education substitutions are provided in italics below the corresponding system of food service management.
- Licensure and 1 or more years’ experience as a Dietitian
